This paper is the sub-project of the independent innovation achievements of Shandong Province, named "Low-cost, Low-power, High-reliability Embedded Terminal and Information Service Platform"(project number2010ZHZX1A1001), In view of the problems arising in the process of information in China, such as the high threshold, high threshold price, high-power, low resource utilization and the cloud data center resources shared barriers, we put forward a new information model based on the architecture of "Cloud computing center+broadband network+multimedia thin client". We research and develop a series of key technology about thin client and cloud computing and we develop of a new information system of low-cost, low-power, cloud architecture.Since the1980s, information construction in China goes through a top-down and from the government information technology to enterprise information. Currently, the basic unit of society-Community Information has been referred to the important construction schedule. Community Information is an important area of social information, and the foundation engineering of National Information. Community Information means under the government-led and community-wide participation, residents demand-oriented, comprehensive utilization of information technology tools, integration of community resources, providing a full range of information services for community residents, improving community management and service level. That is, the use of modern information and communication technologies, especially the Internet, technology, government, neighborhood residents, including enterprises, intermediary organizations and institutions within the community to build an interactive network platform to establish channels for communication services, making management more efficient, more high-quality services, and ultimately meet the residents of the growing material and cultural needs to bring life to the public convenience and improve quality of life.Most of the community’s economic strength is limited, and many households have a weak foundation, a lot of people do not use computers and access to information; community information site is not real-time and effective, residents often feel difficulty to get information they really need. After market research we found that the majority of community residents have an urgent need for an inexpensive, easy to operate, reliable performance, cost-effective terminal equipment to access information quickly and efficiently. Therefore, the construction of a new community information system, to provide users with a low cost, high reliability, easy maintenance terminal to create a new model of a new kind of application of information technology in modern society, has great significance on the promotion of community information.In order to solve problems encountered in the community information construction, this paper presents a method for the construction of new community information system implementations, the use of "cloud computing" with embedded technology, changes the traditional PC mode. The new information system architecture based on "Cloud computing center+broadband network+multimedia thin client", includes embedded terminal system research, highly reliable cloud computing server cluster building. This thesis mainly completes the development of embedded terminal software system design.Hardware design of low-cost, highly reliable, interactive rainbow terminal. We use modular system design, mainly includes the processor module, the network module, the information interaction of functional modules, the memory functional module, the audio function module, the USB interface function module, extended function modules, etc., for different applications, this terminal can be easily cut and added individual modules, in order to achieve the best balance between demand function and cost.Software design of low-cost, highly reliable, interactive rainbow terminal. Including the Bootloader transplant development, customization and development of the Linux kernel, operating system migration, the file system of production, development of GUI interface, browser transplantation based on webkit and custom development. Meanwhile we develop audio and video player, picture viewer, document editing, and other common features.Through rainbow terminal designed by the paper, users can login Cloud information center easily, browse customized information or access to network information, as well as audio and video playback, document editing, chat and other functions.
