This paper is derived from the Rural Informatization Project of Shandong Province"Key Technology Application in Rural Informatization"(2009ZHZX1A0108) and "Low Cost,Low Power,High-reliability embedded terminal and Information Service Platform"(2010ZHZX1A1001),which is managed by Prof. Dongfeng Yuan form ISE of Shandong University.With the strong national policy support,the development of information technology in rural areas is very rapid and farmers' demand for new information mode and interactive device is also growing rapidly.The R&D team of Shandong University have constructed a platform by cloud computing,on which software and hardware are designed with self-owned intellectual property rights.The architecture is based on thin terminal,broadband networks,servers,and cloud computing in dealing with the present problems.This method breaks the information monopoly(PC mode) made by Microsoft and Intel.This project has made a demonstration effort.In order to guarantee the project accord with the requirements of practice and the current status of rural informatization,this project team has organized several rural informatization surveys. Many survey results have been obtained in the past,which provides firm basis for the great development of our project. With the analysis of survey,we find that many farmers are restricted to the knowledge levels and the using habit of home appliances. They can hardly to use the common Mouse and keyboard,so the project will aim at solving these problems. Two proprietary intellectual property rights interactive are developed by this team; there are handwriting recognition system based on embedded Linux and infrared remote controlling system.Samsung2440,Embedded Linux,Qtopia GUI and HW006 handwriting recognition chip are exploited to construct handwriting recognition system. This system has simple hardware interface,module modularized software implementation. The period of development is short and practicability is very good,then these properties are greatly convenient for users whom cannot input Chinese with Pinyin and keyboard,so this system has large cost and workload advantages. In order to drive user who are get used to TV remote controller to operate this system easily,another interactive infrared remote controlling system is implemented by our team. This system is composed of two components; there are infrared transmitted and received systems. Infrared transmitted system is composed of MCU,Infrared transmitter and peripheral circuits. At the same time,infrared received system is composed of optical/ electrical signal converter,amplifier,demodulation circuits,decoding circuits (integrated infrared device)and peripheral matching circuits. The detailed introduction is listed in the following chapters. Multiple input ways are combined in this system; this characteristic is convenient for user to make selections and guarantees the carry out of our project.
