Assessment for intermediate managers plays an important role for enterprises.The disadvantages for traditional assessment system are long operating period, complicated running procedure and inaccurate results.As a result, enormous financial and human resources are wasted.The development of assessment system for intermediate managers could improve the efficiency of management of performance assessment system via increasing the motivation of employees and assessing the performance of each intermediate manager from every aspect.This assessment is focusing on the intermediate managers and will be using as an alternative tool for HR staff.There are five assessment areas "Morality、Ability、 Diligence、Performance、Probity "and each area consists of "Self Assessment","Employee Assessment","Departments Assessment" and "Leader Assessment".This system can be fully used for HR staff to query and analysis the performance of intermediate managers.This paper introduces the development process of this system which includes analysis of demand, concept design, detailed design and the test of system.Paragraph and diagrams are employed to show the whole design process.The main achievements of this system are listed as below:The intermediate managers who are under assessment could log on the system and fill in details of performance. Relevant personnel could assess and give scores via "Self Assessment","Employee Assessment","Departments Assessment" and "Leader Assessment" according to different roles.HR staff could gather the result of assessment and generate report for the top leaders of company.The top leaders, intermediate manager and HR department could query the result of assessment by different searching methods as period, name or department.The system could sum the result of each person who join the assessment during one year and calculate the average annual result by dividing the times of assessment.The system administrator could set up the roles of different staff, the structure of enterprises and personal information of employee.Furthermore, they could adjust the assessment period, calculation functions, assessment criterions and staff’s authorities.Also they could input the working performance, query the progress of assessment and post out the result of assessment.The development of system is based on.NET and the background database is supported by Oracle10g. Microsoft Visual Studio2010is used as the developing tool and the language is C#.The logistical structure of this system can be divided into three parts:presentation layer、business layer and data layer.Data layer which is in charge of managing the operations and controls of database means the management system of database.The responsibility of business layer is administrating the main jobs of management system. Presentation layer is the bridge between users and database. Presentation layer will read and control the database via business layer.ExtViewPort layout integration technology is employed for system interface and some areas for important business are using the JQuery lightweight scripting framework.Meanwhile, AJAX communicate technology is used to transfer data for presentation layer and business layer.As a result, this B/S application system could run smoothly without refreshing.
