| As the competition of global economic, more and more manufacturing companies have been adopting manufacturing systems to improve their business processes. Manufacturing system is based on information technology and the thinking of systematic management, to provide decision management platform for manager and staff. Manufacturing system is also an important tool for the implementation of business process reengineering as an enterprise resource management system, which is used by medium-sized manufacturing company. About80%of the world’s fortune500companies are using MRPII/ERP software as a tool for their daily workflow and decision-making, which effectiveness is evident.In this paper, the background, meaning, motivation, status and theoretical foundation of MRPII system is discussed. Combining the theory, the application of the eight modules in MRPII system in a certain enterprise is then analyzed in detail. Moreover, based on its defects, some improvements to the system are also given. The prospect of research direction was analyzed, finally.Although the prevalence of manufacturing systems is increasing, researches about the applications of MPR/ERP in domestic enterprise are still fewer. Focused on its specific application, internal production processes and profit, an example of the application of MPRII system used in enterprise is given. As the previous generation of ERP systems, MRPII system has already equipped the core of ERP system. The results of this study can provide useful information for managers, system users and potential users; it can be also used as a basis for future research. It also shows the circumstances of our manufacturing enterprises adopt MRPII/ERP systems to manage company to the international audience. |
