Achievements Dominated And Problems Dominated:a Study Of The Environmental News Media Image Of"The People’s Daily" And "the Southern Weekend"from The Perspective Of The Frame Theory

The Eighteenth National Congress of the Communist party of China reported which advancing the socialism with Chinese characteristics and make a "five in one" overall layout. With the proposed a series of policy ideas, the media has increased in number and length about the environmental news. The media pay more and more attention to the environment news. This article used the frame theory to compare the environmental news of the People’s Daily and the Southern Weekend.It analyzed the high frame, the middle frame and the low frame of the two newspapers through the news topics, sources, reported the tone, genre, schema structure, keywords, quotation, details, etc. It summed the characteristics of the two newspapers and analyzed the cause of the two newspapers’framework.The study found that the high frame of The People’s Daily when reporting on environmental news used environmental protection achievement theme framework, the middle frame mainly used major incidents map-frame and the plot map-frame, the low frame used the macro-narrative frame. The People’s Daily used the three levels of news frames to shape China is a very responsible country in terms of environmental protection. The high frame of The Southern Weekend when reporting on environmental news used the difficulties and problems of environmental protection frame, environmental pollution and destruction problem frame. The middle frame mainly used oral response schema map-frame and the situation map-frame. The low frame used detailed description frame. The Southern Weekend used the three levels of news frames reflects when it reported environmental news has a strong humanistic care. The high level, the medium level and the low level of two newspapers frames has the intrinsic uniformity. They shaped the frame of different characteristics of the environmental news reports, and the different frames were the cause of two different media organizations, source and social situation, etc.
