Research On The Difference Of Earthquake News Narrative Between People's Daily And Southern Weekend

After the eastablishment of New China, affected by political factors for a long time, earthquake news were not open and transparent. The report about Wenchuan earthquake can be regarded to creat a new era of unexpected events in China media reports. They are not only timely, open and transparent, but also influence the public voice and realize the value of the media.This paper selects "People's Daily" and "Southern Weekend" about Wenchuan earthquake news as an analytical text, take the differences between the two newspapar's narration as a starting point, use narrative theory to analyzes differences between the two newspapars' narrative methods as well as narrative effects from three aspects, namley narrative perspective, narrator and narrative approach, and explores the causes of the narrative difference.Using narrative theory to analyzes news report and provides an important theoretical tool for new report writing.
