Now submerged arc furnace is used in smelting ferromanganese in many metallurgical enterprises. In order to grasp the changes in voltage between the electrodes comprehensively when the submerged arc furnace running, and complete the reactive power compensation timely, a lot of site real-time voltage values and current values which are between the electrodes of the Submerged arc furnace need to be collected. A submerged arc furnace electricity data management system, which makes the storage, process and display of the field real-time data achieved easily, is introduced in this paper for the issues of the field-collected bulk real-time electricity data including the transmission, storage, display, etc.According to the development process of software engineering the software system development work can be carried out gradually as follows. Firstly, the system requirements need to be deeply analyzed, the functional requirements of the system is confirmed after the system requirement study, and the feasibility of the system development is analyzed. Secondly, based on the analysis result of the system requirements, function structure of the system is designed, the system function model is established. Under the theory and specification of database design, the system data structure model and the database is built. Then, the system are implemented with Visual Basic6.0and MySQL database management system. For the field data has the characteristics of large data volume and strong real-timeliness, the methods of the large field real-time data acquisition and processing which are based on the approach of the data file is designed, and the large quantities real-time data store is achieved timely in the light of the analysis of the large real-time data storage strategy. Finally, the whole system is tested according to the requirements of the users. The results show that the function of the system completely meet the requirements of users. The successful construction of submerged arc furnace electricity data management system can benefit the metallurgical company to reduce the energy consumption of the production, and to promote the information transformation in the production process of the metallurgical enterprises.
