In recent years, wireless communication technology in China have made great progress,the mature of the applications wireless communication technology have also made it deep into the bits and pieces of our lives, can be said to be everywhere. This article is to introduce an important application that wireless communication technology in the power system.Electricity--an important secondary energy , as national economic development,saving energy that saving to reduce production costs for future businesses will be the focus of chasing targets.Therefore, how to carry out distribution network reactive power compensation, improve the power factor of the grid, at last reached the purpose of energy saving, it's a question that in recent years has concened.In this context, with LPC2132 as the core processor,TC35 as the GSM module of wireless communication, a reactive power compensation device with the long-range wireless data transmission was designed .This paper introduces the choice of system solutions, hardware and software design and implementation. Make a detailed analysis and research to the two data communication systems, one is RS-485 communication that is based on the MODBUS which is used in close monitoring, the other is TC35 GSM module by a remote power distribution monitoring,which is used in external environment for remote monitoring of complex conditions.Through research, development and test about system, The device have the advantages of anti-interference ability, control and high precision, high cost performance, etc, the result shows that the device hardware and software designed is very good,and have a stable and reliable performance, meet the design requirements, have a broad market prospects.
