Submerged arc furnace is the main equipment of ferroalloy producing. The quality of the product and the enterprise's economic efficiency mainly depend on the controlling of it. There is much significance and value for the studying of the controlling strategy and automation technological reform of it.Point to the defect of current use current as controlled, based on the analysis of the main circuit of the submerged arc furnace, the control strategy using molten bath resistance is introduced and the formula of molten bath resistance calculation is given. On the basis of studying silicon-manganese production technology, an automatic control system which consists of PC and PLC for a 12500kVA silicon-manganese submerged arc furnace was designed. Modularized PLC Siemens S7-300 system is used to collect data and control production technology, and Kingview software is used to design supervisory program which has a friendly human machine interface and can manage real-time data.Using TS fuzzy model identification, TS fuzzy model of submerged arc furnace resistance control system is proposed, and fuzzy number model controller is designed. Matlab software is used to simulate the control system, and the result of it is compared with the traditionally designed PID control. The simulate analysis result show that the proposed control strategy used in submerged arc furnace resistance control system has better anti-jamming and accuracy.
