With the extensive application of the database, the capability and efficiency of database to manage data becomes higher. On the basis of existing hardware and software sources, fully playing the potential of the database can not only save the cost of system operation,but also can guarantee the security, stability, and high rates of the databases.In fact,the performance and optimization of database, especially in spatial database, it has become an important research subject.Dimensional modeling and dynamic simulation research of Coal mining subsidence area as the Case study, Getting from the existing research about spatial database performance optimizations, and combined with the actual work of building a database, we will take spatial database storage optimization, adjusting Oracle database memory parameters and security parameters, adjusting the data and index of ArcSDE, setting partition,Setting the block parameters, and Arcgis server as the main contents. As well as explore the strategies and methods to improve spatial database performance optimization via some experiments. Combined with the actual work of building a database and Experimental Studies. There is the main research contents and and achievements:(1) Spatial data include vectors and raster data. In order to reduce Oracle storage space, Vector data stored in SDE Geodatabase directly as feature class. According to different data types and characteristics, raster data set different compression method,compression ratio, and re-sampled data series parameters pyramids. DEM uses raster datasets, and DOM uses raster catalog table.(2) Using Oracle own tools of monitoring and performance optimization, System Global Area, Program Global Area and other parameters were adjusted. According to statistical informations of memory parameters activities and referring to the relevant performance evaluations to adjust the parameters of System Global Area and Program Global Area. At the same time,adjusting the security parameters and Enable the spatial database archiving mode in order to protect the security, stability and high rates of the spatial database.(3) ArcSDE acts as the data path between the storage of spatial data and relational data. In order to realize performance optimization by setting the table and index, setting the partition, setting block parameters, changing the storage parameters in ArcSDE. It is proved that the performance optimization of ArcSDE is meaningful to improve the performance of spatial database.(4) Publish map services. Change the Adjustment and modified map document of Three dimensional modeling and dynamic simulation research of mining subsidence into service through the ArcCatalog or ArcGIS server in order to Avoid to access background database. By adjusting the hardware, Setting up network bandwidth parameter, Setting different scale map document display, Setting spatial database attribute field visibility, enabling data caching and pooling services to improve the speed of browsing data, improve Server performance. It is proved that the operations support the spatial database of Three dimensional modeling and dynamic simulation research of mining subsidence in safety, stability and efficiency.
