With the progress of science and technology and the development of the society, allwalks of life are using automated equipment to complete the precision machining process thatthe manual cannot achieve, the motion control technology applies to the most of theequipments and different kinds of the field. In this article, the motion control system isdesigned and studied based on LabVIEW.First this article carried on the simple introduction of the concept, composition, principleand classification of motion control system, analyzes the typical scheme of motion controlsystem hardware, thus it is concluded that the "PC+motion control card" of the controlscheme would be applied to this system of the hardware system design. According to theusers’ requirement and then choose the motor and drive and motion control card, and studyand master the Parameter library reference manual of the movement control CARDS and theuser manual, including its parameters and the movement instruction and procedures. Afteranalysis and comparison it is chosen the LabVIEW as the development software, andintroduces the design steps of the programming environment and its movement control,introduces the detail of the dynamic link library call steps, in order to lay the foundation formotion control program written later. At last, it is said that on the Windows XP operatingsystem, the LabVIEW2011is used to research and design motion control PC control software,including user interface, parameter setting module, motor control module, coordinate graphicsand display module, position module, report generation module, and introduces the functionof each module and the concrete implementation steps.Showed by the experimental data and the graphic display, the motion control systemsoftware designed by the LabVIEW, completed the secondary development of the PCI4Pmovement control CARDS, which the user interface is simple and clear, programming language is easy to understand, to facilitate analysis, to pinpoint the positioning of the motioncontrol and to conform to the requirements of the project precisely, in order that the designmethod has universal applicability.
