Nowadays, open numerical control system has been widely used in the industrial area. And it is the most popular for NC system to connect exclusive motion control card through the PCI bus .Industrial control computer transfers command. After received command data, motion control board accomplishes specific functions, for example, real-time controlling speed and turning of motor etc. Thus Motion control board can reduce a lot of work on PC controlling. At present, there are still wide gaps between the domestic motion control cards and those made in developed countries. Therefore, it is meaningful to do researches and developments on motion control cards.In this dissertation, some approaches of implementing motion control cards are compared and the trend of motion control cards is discussed. On the basis of the analysis of Laser curving machine systems'requirements on motion control cards, a unique approach of designing DSP-based PCI bus motion control card is presented. This approach has been proved to have several features of good adaptability, easiness of software modification or update and convenience for debugging.After the block diagram discussed, the hardware and software structure are demonstrated, the designs of the circuits based on the motor control chip. TMS320LF2407 such as computation and control circuit, bus interface circuit, driver interface circuit are given. The control card software discussed .The driver of the motion control card is developed by Windriver. The program of DSP including the initialization, the communications with PC of the card is designed by modular programming methods.The costs of the card developed in this paper are much lower .It is programmed to make the control unit more generalizable. It will make a base for the amelioration of motion control card based on DSP.
