AIDS is not only a public healthy problem, but also a complicated socialproblem. It involves politics, economy, culture, value and other aspects. Therefore,World Health Organization creates an anniversary for AIDS on the December1stevery year, which attracts more pbulic ateention and awareness on AIDS. Traditionalmedia, such as newspaper, as an important information channel, will shoulder moreresponsibility to provent AIDS from public harm. However, there also exists someproblems on nwes reporting. Thus, Selecting AIDS Day as the object, systematicallystudies the reports from communist party newspaper, metropolis daily andprofessional one. Firstly, the paper shows AIDS Day background, the current status,the study methods and the data sample. Secondly, taking AIDS Day report before andafter from Hunan Daily, Sanxiang City News and Healthy Times as samples, itcompares the reports from data statistical analysis and discourse expression analysis.Thirdly, this paper classifies the commonness and individualities of the three kinds ofnews paper reports. Finally, it reveals some problems existing in the three reports andputs forward corresponding reporting strategies, which intends to improve the currentstatus on AIDS reporting in order to make full use of professional role and achieve thebest communiction effects.
