The Study On The "AIDS Day" Report From The Perspective Of Framing Theory

AIDS is not only a simple public health issue,but also a complex social issue.Media coverage of AIDS in addition to affecting people's understanding of AIDS,but also affects people's awareness and behavior in the prevention and treatment of AIDS.Since the first "World AIDS Day" was established on December 1,1988,the news media reported the frequency of AIDS before and after World AIDS Day is often higher,and the value orientation of the report is more representative.This article uses the report on the AIDS issue during the “World AIDS Day”(November 30-December 2)of the “People's Daily” from 1988 to 2017 as the research object,combining quantitative research with qualitative research,and using the framework theory as Based on the three methods of literature analysis,content analysis,and text analysis,the People's Daily research report on AIDS issues during the World AIDS Day was conducted.The main contents of the study are: In the first chapter,through the literature analysis method,the research status of the framework theory and the AIDS report are summarized and analyzed;in the second chapter,the number of reports covered by the content analysis method over the past 30 years and the reported The quantitative analysis of the layout,the geographical coverage of the report,the theme of the report,the genre of the report,and the sources of the report led to the changes in the characteristics of the “People's Daily” AIDS Day report on a macro level;in the third chapter,the text analysis method was further adopted.A meticulous investigation improves the understanding of the text and shows the characteristics of the reporting framework.The study found that: With 2003 as the time node,The "People's Daily" AIDS Day reporting framework has been deviated from the construction of issues between 1988-2002 and gradually entered into the scientific humanity during 2003-2017,“AIDS Day” report that there was a problem of “reduced interest in reporting” and “individual image of AIDS patients/infected individuals”.In its future reports,the People's Daily must pay attention to attracting readers on the platform,satisfying readers in content,and engrossing readers in their feelings,effectively enhancing the influence of the party media,and undertaking the social responsibility of the party media.
