Our country’s agricultural fields are scattered in the geographical distribution.The traditional method for monitorning field environment is sampling point detection in the field, manually recording data, and then analyzing the data. This method not only takes much more labor but also more time.It also can not monitor the condition of plants in real time.In recent years, Some remote monitorning systems have been put forward and most of these proposals are wired. Though they are both high reliability and fast.While they are high reliability and quick transmission speed, but the scattered field distribution in our country is not suitable for the wired transportation. With science and technology development, communication is gradually applied to the agricultural field monitoring.In this paper, analysises the research status and development of agricultural field information transmission was analysised. Through the analysis of the function and the performance of monitoring system, a kind of farmland remote monitoring system was designed. The research included data acquisition, overall design of remote monitoring software and division of modules. The date acquisition part consist of sensors choosing, data transmission among nodes, data transmission between remote monitoring center and slave computer. This study completed data acquisition and design of software and hardware based on the Keil uVision3. The remote monitoring center was designed based on Visual C++6.0. The system database was designed on ACCESS. By using the object-oriented technology and the C++language, the software of data monitor was designed which communicate with data acquisition instrument in real time.Remote monitoring center can display date from slave computer, inquiring history data and monitor graph.Via experiment, remote monitoring system of farmland condition based on GPRS meets the design requirements.
