Chinese Officials And The Masses Event Network Public Opinion Research

Starting from the nineteen eighties, China’s entering into the social, economic double transition period. The reasons of uneven distribution of benefits, different value idea, and impeded demand channel caused the contradictions between officials and the people increasingly prominent. In view of the above background and problems, this paper focuses the research on the network public opinion of the events of contradictions between officials and people.The study found that the conflict event of Chinese officials and people increase in quantity, scale, as well as social influence, but the incident duration is shortening. China’s official people conflict events appear frequently because China is in a special period of economic and social double transition, where the society benefit demand channel is not unimpeded, and the government public service is not in place, and people’s awareness of political participation is increasing. The propagation characteristics of the network public opinion of China’s official and the people conflict events mainly manifest in four aspects:multiple levels of the subject; polarization tendency of communication demands; strong interaction of the propagation carriers; controllability and uncontrollability of the media effectiveness. At present, government departments has explored good strategies in dealing with the network public opinion of official people conflict events, however, there still exists insufficiencies. The beneficial explorations include mainly in the implementation of open government affairs, accelerating network public opinion response speed, and increasing efforts on official accountability. The insufficiencies reflect in the traditional stabilizing thoughts occupying the dominant position, the network public opinion evolution could not holding well, the "sealing","blocking" and "deleting" still adopted as the main means of dealing with the network public opinion of official People conflict events. In view of the lacks of coping strategies, this paper proposed a few optimization strategies, including the positive attitude to the network public opinion, improving monitoring system of network public opinion and pre-warning mechanisms strengthening in guiding the network public opinion, improving the disposal method of network public opinion.The innovations of the paper consist of perspective innovation and countermeasures innovation. The perspective innovation mainly embody that the paper studied the network public opinion from the contradictions events between government and the people, and systematically described the propagation characteristics of the event of network public opinion. The innovation of countermeasures is mainly embodied in proposing some feasible strategies, which can be compensated for the insufficiencies in dealing with the network public opinion of the contradictions between officials and people.
