Study On The Realization Ways Of Open Access Publishing In Academic Journals In China

Academic journal publishing is an indispensable component of academiccommunication.“User subscription” business model of paper periodicals publishingplayed an important role in the traditional academic communication system. However, inthe digital network environment,“User subscription” business model encounteredresistance. From open access publishing, the ways of resolving the conflict had beenfound out. Open access academic journals, this free, online and open academiccommunication mode really caters to the researchers who pay attention to the scientificdiscovery priority, and meets users’ demand in academic communication under thenetwork environment. These give open access academic journal publishinginexhaustible intrinsic motivation.Open access publishing of academic journal has been experiencing practicalexploration and theoretical construction for more than10years in the domestic andoverseas. Economic operation mechanism is the core issue of open access publishingmodel whether it can sustainable or not. This thesis discusses characteristics anddevelopment trend of open access publishing, dividing the type of multivariate openaccess platform and putting forward operation choice opinions.The thesis consists of five chapters: Chapter I is titled as “introduction”, and mainlyintroduces the purpose and significance of research, through literature review anddefinition of the core concepts of this article, confirming the research focus of this thesisis the implementation mode of academic journals’ open access publishing, and puttingforward research method. Chapter II mainly discusses about the basic problems of openaccess publishing and the domestic and international development, summarizing thebasic types of open access and pointing out that the priority of scientific discovery is theinherent motivation of open access publishing. Chapter Ⅲ mainly analyzes the basicstructure of funds of journal publishing operation, comparing the cost compositionbetween traditional publishing model and open access publishing model. At the sametime, analyzing the journal published with Chinese characteristics, and summarizing various operating modes and characteristics of academic journals publishing in China;Chapter Ⅳ Focuses on various open access publishing model and operation picture,anglicizing in-depth from different dimensionality and constructing models of academicjournals’ open access publishing on the basis of making the basic judgment of academicjournals publishing. Chapter Ⅴ puts forward the choice of implementation path ofacademic journals’ open access publishing in China. The last is the conclusion whichevaluate on the whole research work and the deep-going direction.
