With the number of projects increasing in the Industrial Bank Research andDevelopment Center(R&D center or center), the center staff size keeps growing constantly.Work management, project management and human resource planning and other aspectsare subject to significant constraints. Therefore, for the R&D center, it becomes anessential need for a high quality information system which is able to meet managementrequirements, provide simplified process, and improve work efficiency and quality.The necessity of the realization of management information system is discussed.In addition, it provides the detailed descriptions of MIS and the concept of MVCframework. With the brief explanation of various components and their integration inthe current popular open source framework SSH2(Structs2+Spring+Hibernate), it alsodemonstrates the technical feasibility of the system implementation.After the careful analysis of system requirements and business processes, thesystem is deigned to be based on a three-tier tree-based structural system--"R&DCenter-Departments-Teams". It also features in the cross management of people andproject, and is data-centric work management. It implemented eight modules includingsystem management, attendance management, work management, project management,performance management, asset management, report management, human resourcemanagement planning. The system is designed for various roles includingadministrators, asset managers, center director, department officials, team leaders,project managers, general staff, and each role has different permissions. Roles andassociated permissions can be flexibly configured. In this thesis, it includes the detailedfunctional design of the overall system and its sub-modules, and the design of severalcore algorithms, such as system architectural algorithm, performance evaluationalgorithm, work evaluation algorithm etc.Based on the system design principles, B/S three-tier architecture pattern is appliedin the design. TOMCAT is chosen as the application server, with SQL Server2000working as the back-end database. JAVA is used as development language. Front-enddata display is using JSP and HTML language. CSS, DOM, JavaScript and othertechnologies are used in the optimization of the front-end interface to make it morefriendly and more powerful. During development, common labels/tags are customizedto achieve better re-usability in coding and simplicity in development process.
