With rapid development of mobile communication, higher requirements of signalcoverage quality have been raised. Repeater, as the important device in the mobilecommunication network coverage and its optimization, has been playing a moreimportant role in network construction. In order to monitor and manage the repeaterequipment uniformly and all-directionally, and to enhance the management efficiency,it’s essential to develop a new generation of repeater monitoring system to offer theoperator integrated telecommunications monitoring service. This research has thepractical significance of improving the wireless communication and our technologicalservice quality, and ensuring the operation and maintenance in various conditions. Italso has outstanding significance and functions to support the construction anddevelopment of various mobile communication systems in the future.The content of this research is to develop a set of repeater monitoring system. Thepresent repeater monitoring system which often crash has a weak processing capability.It can not meet the normal demand of network now. And the data transmission usingshort messages has the disadvantages of a high cost, small data flow and slowtransmission speed. So it is difficult to achieve the interconnection with the Internet toensure the long-term online system, and to support the users and remote terminals toaccess to the Internet or other packet data networks. In order to overcome theseshortcomings, and to improve and optimize the present monitoring system, we designto implement a new generation of repeater station monitoring system by adopting themain controller ARM series chip of a new generation, using GPRS technology totransmit data, and using TCP/IP network interface and RS485bus to realize analog RFunit block.On the basis of the analysis of the research goal, functions to be realized, and therequirements of interface, this paper designs the hardware of the monitoring system(including hardware system, hardware implementation scheme), and the software ofmonitoring system (including the software design process, the overall architecturedesign, focusing on introducing the design and implementation of OMC software).Finally, the paper tests and verifies the related functions to achieve the designed goals.
