The Research On Construction Of Emergency Response Plan For University Libraries

University library is the distributing center of information resources in the university. University library is intensive in people, documents and equipments, etc. And the events which may damage the information resources, reader groups and equipments would endanger the safety of the library and its readers, so the emergency management of university library plays an important role in the whole emergency management of the university. It is significant to construct the contingency plan for university library. In2007, General Office of the State’s Council of the People’s Republic of China put forward that it is necessary to set up a full-scaled contingency plan system in two or three years. Whether the corresponding contingency plans have been worked out according to different types of emergency is the key for university library to reply emergency successfully.With the help of network resource, the thesis analyzes the construction of contingency plan in university libraries by investigating the construction of contingency plan of some university libraries. It founds a lot of deficiencies in this investigation, such as the lack of understanding on emergency management, the lack of emergency management standard, the lack of bound and instruction of laws and regulations, the limitation of emergency management quality of the staff, the delay of refreshment for plans, the absence of evacuation planning and structure diagrams, the lack of and professional training, etc.Take Northeastern University Library as an example, the thesis proposed corresponding countermeasure to the above deficiencies, and studied out fire protection contingency plan.
