The Micro-projection technology is developing towards the direction of the opoelectronic integrated chip, as we all know, including MEMS optical micro-projector, LCD Transmissive with Micro Projector, DLP and LCOS reflective micro projectors and so on. Whether DLP or LCOS, projection principle is based on the pixel-array chip. Each pixel of the screen corresponds to an array of points on the chip. So the higher resolution requirements, the bigger the required chip size increases. Besides the requirements of small and lightweight and embedded designed by mini projector, chip size based on both technologies is difficult to overcome technical bottlenecks. MEMS scanning lenses can be performed in two directions perpendicular to each other with high speed vibration. The modulated laser carrying image information lighting onto a mirror is scanned for projection imaging by lens, and the picture is up to infinity and without focus. We propose a semiconductor laser as the light source to develop the laser micro-projection system based on the working principle of MEMS micro-galvanometer, in order to solve the traditional projection system such as low resolution and large chip size. By making two boards of DE2-115debug synchronously, both galvanometer and image data can be output, which dives galvanometer with external galvanometer driving circuit and modulates red, green or blue laser with external laser driving circuit respectively. Then it output grayscale, color images and video. The resolution of the image for VGA format is800x600.The refresh rate is45.4375hz. It requires that the resonant frequency of gavalonmeter is (600/2) x60=18000Hz. But current the frequency is13750Hz, so we can make the resolution of800x610to meet the requirements by sacrificing refresh rate(45Hz). Experimental results show that the system is stable, cost-effective. The resolution of projection screen can reach levels of VGA and have small light loss, small size, low power consumption and has broad market prospects.
