Cold-rolled strip technology is a high-precision, complicated manufacturing process. Control system has a large number of devices, all production processes of mutual restraint, mutual influence, which tension control is an important indicator of affect product quality. Therefore, the study of tension control system for cold rolling mill has an important practical significance. In this paper, based on the background of single-stand reversing cold rolling mill tension control system, research the application of the constant tension control system.First of all, analyze the cold rolling mill production process and the overall structure of the system. Understand the development of tension control system and the importance of tension control for the production of cold-rolled strip. Research the theory of tension generated, contract three different constant tension control technology, and compare their own characteristics and applications. Understand the direct and indirect tension control principle of tension control technology.Then, based on the theory of PROFIBUS, introduce the international fieldbus standard, analyze the fieldbus characteristics and superiority. Research the PROFIBUS protocol structure and working mode.The last of all, introduce the automatic control system of a single stand cold rolling mill from the two major aspects of the hardware configuration and software design. Based on the data through commissioning drive equipment, compared the actual effect of two tension control in the production.
