Study Of Automatic Tension Control On The Application Of 1250mm Tandem Cold Mill System

Cold sheet metal is a product that yield a high added value, and the essential raw materialsof automobile, machinery, construction, electronic, food and other industries. Tandem coldrolling is a highly efficient, high-quality cold-rolled production technology and it has numerousequipment,complex control process. In the process of strip production, the control precision ofinterstand tension has a directly impact on the quality of steel strip products and rolling stability.This article expatiates the main reason which lead to the interstand tension and analyzesthe control mode and basic principles of ATC(Automatic tension control)on detail.Coupledwith the requirements and development of technology of cold sheet metal rolling,it analyzesand studies the automatic tension control system (ATC), discusses the primary principlesand control methods of current ATC systems. With further study of ATC systems and designingrequirements of 1250mm 5 stands tandem cold mill project in FuJian Casey Steel plant, we alsoimprove the ATC control model and debugging in the field. With half three months' debugging,the mill puts into production normally. It fully indicates the superiority and practicability of thiscontrol method and also shows the shortage of it.According to the existing uncertain factors in the field, it discusses the influence on thesystem performance which was caused by ATC regulation. In the meanwhile, it discusses theinfluence on the final control results which was caused by ATC measuring apparatus and findsout the deficiency of its application.Automatic tension control (ATC) has a great impact on increasing control precision andenhanced the quality of sheet metal production. Accordingly the study of intensifying theapplication of ATC will be important guarantee of promoting sheet rolling modernization.
