Transmission line fault caused by ice is one of severe natural disasters in powersystem, wire icing disasters have significant relationship with ice division, and icedivision mainly depends on sufficient and correct data and data analysis method.Southwest electric power design institute is a national backbone power gridtransmission line planning and design unit, planning and feasibility studies for the largenumber of transmission line, the line safe operation is directly related to thetransmission line design, and wire ice data is one of important factors, so thetransmission lines ice data information management and analysis of application becomevery important.Currently, southwest electric power design institute collected a large amount of iceobservation data, because this field is relatively new, there is no established businesssystems, data was storage mainly by the way of document, the lack of a unified wire iceobservation data database, these are to cause ice data using efficiency and degree ofautomation low. On the other hand, Ice observation data is used to calculate the standardice thickness and design ice thickness of observation point, it is an important part of theice division, these functions are also performed by some small independent application,lack of integration, difficult to use. According to the actual business needs, an urgentneed to establish a unified platform to complete ice data management, query andanalysis, improve the informatization level of ice data management applications field.In this paper, the conductor ice computing system was developed in combinationwith the working practice, and the technology and methods of system implementationwas researched. Based on the geographic information system and informationmanagement system, combined with ADO.NET,the observation data input and querymanagement were achieved, calculation of the standard ice thickness and design icethickness for ice investigation and observation was achieved, using ArcGIS componentsto secondary integrated development, based on the field of information fusion accordingto transmission lines, stations, convenient user intuitive management site, transmissionline and query ice data. The present situation of the system and the developmentnecessity were introduced firstly, then introduced the theory and technology, and thedatabase, ADO.NET database access technology and ArcGIS second development platform. In the process of system implementation, in accordance with the standards ofthe software development process, the user requirements was analyzed, the systemoverall design has carried out, the architecture and function module of conductor icecomputing system has been clear, and a database of conductor ice coating was built.Finally, on the basis of the overall design, the system function was realized by the use ofVisual Studio2010programming.
