Design And Implementation Of Electronic Dictionary System Based On Android

With the development of technology,the mobile devices come havealready walked into people’s home and become an important part of people’slives.Now there are already more mobile device users than PC users,and themobile application come in to use,especially the smart phone application willhave enormous economic benefits.English,as the world’s most widely usedlanguage,is wide used all over the world,there are still lots of people learningEnglish hard.In the past,people learn English using several fixed teachingmaterials,there are some limitations can not solve.If English learning cancombined with mobile Internet,design a electronic dictionary system whichcan be used on smart phone or other mobile device,user can use it learnEnglish anytime and anywhere,make full use of spare time,improve theEnglish learning efficiency.Android as an open-source smart phone operatingsystem which occupied the most of the market,will serve as much user aspossible if we design an electronic dictionary on it.This paper analyses the existing English learing method,electronicdictionary and the development of the market prospects, draw a conclusionthat using mobile device to learn English can make full use of the timefragments,easy to carry and use,can improve the efficiency of learningEnglish.Reference to the existing system,propose a new electronic dictionarysystem based on Android.Through research and analysis on the technicaldifficulties, solutions and specific implementations are proposed.This paper introduces the background and situation at home and abroadfirst,show the great social and economic value of this system,then introduces the Android platform and relate technology,analyses the functional andunfunctional requirements,describes the system architecture,clientarchitecture and the function modules.Finally it details the detailed design ofeach module of the client innovative design, technical problems are studiedand analyzed, and puts forward the solution to the client and the concreterealization method.The author participated in requirement analysis, outlinedesign and testing in the project development. In the project theauthorindependently designed and implemented Translation module, TTSmodule,Speech recognition module,Self study module, User Settingsmodule,where the TTS and speech recognition use iFLYTEK MSP(MobileSpeech Platform),which has save resources, reduce the workloadcharacteristics.This project is based on the Android platform. Research methods andtechniques mainly involve the Android application development technology.After repeated testing in the Android devices, the client realize functions ofLocal search, Network search,Word Library, Pronouncing, Recite words, Usersettings.After testing, we can see the client can meet the needs of users.
