With economic development and the rapid increase of the vehicle, the more and moredemand for Intelligent Transportation System management methods,while AutomatedTransportation Information system arises at this moment. This article mainly analysis therelevant technology and proposes the application development of android mobile phone in thefield of Electronic Map based on the practical situations.Firstly, this paper analysis the structure of android system, the application components, therelated functional classes and creation process of android application.Secondly, this paper makes an investigation into the related theoretical basis of applicationdevelopment, including electronic map technology, location technology and the calculation forthe actual road distance.Among them, Electronic map technology involves composition of theelectronic map and the interaction process between the client and service;location technologyincludes station location,terminal location and GPS location.;the calculation for the actual roaddistance includes spherical distance calculation and shortest path algorithm.Thirdly, this paper analysis the demand of the system applications and divides it into fivefunction modules: self positioning module, position search module, path planning module, realtime traffic module and nearby search module. Among them,self positioning module is to obtainthe user’s current location information; position search module is to provide the specific positionon the electronic map; path planning module is to provide the best user travel path information;real time traffic module is to provide the real-time status of a road; nearby search module is tosupport the service information nearby the location,such as: hospitals, schools, parks.This paper executes the functions design storage design and interface design for eachmodule.Functions design means designnng the flowchart of each module;storage design is toprovide data from the database file;interface design is to design the interface of eachmodule.Finally,the above five function modules are realized by the JAVA language andfunctional tested.
