The paper studied the rfame of Chinese mainland newspapers reporting the left-behindchildren problem. The four selected papers are People’s Daily, China Youth Daily, SouthernMetropolis Daily and Xiaoxiang Morning News, which present four kinds of papers inmainland China. The paper first analyzed th’e four papers reports on letf-behind childrenfrom January V\2006to December312012,applied with quantitative analysis andqualitative analysis, aiming to figure out the general rfame used by Chinese mainlandnewspapers and different rfames used by different types of papers. More importantly, thepaper also studied the negative effects of the frames and pointed out the reasons for’newspapers application of different rfames. On the purpose of improving Chinesemainland newspapers reporting of letf-behind children and of stimulating the governmentand the public to solve the letf-behind children problem, the paper at last made suggestions’on how to better newspapers reporting to help solve the letf-behind children problem.
