Research On The Effect Of Citizen Journalism In Civil Society

The civil society is an important means of building a harmonious society of China,it’s growth can facilitate citizen participation in public affairs, promote democracy decision, and be the media between government and citizen. While the citizen journalism has consistency with citizen society’s social core value and structural elements in theory; and the citizen journalism relies on the new medias such as micro-blog, blog, forum which show the user the characteristics of principal multivariate, information timely disclosure, supervision of public opinion widely,social influence and strong multiple in response to public events.They construct a new Internet sphere for citizen participation, every citizen can use the citizen journalism published views, opinions and experiences.The citizen journalism will be able to gather the thousands of people together, composition of every hue of network community, virtual community, it provides new patterns of organization for the development of the civil society; in addition, Chinese large users of internet and mobile phone provide varies issues for citizen journalism.Citizens use citizen journalism to report sudden catastrophic events, participate in government or Internet activism, and then by common interests it will form network community or virtual community in the network,then this strong opinion will play an important role on public opinion guidance, supervision. At the same time, citizen journalism can set traditional media agenda, formation public opinion resonance through traditional media, which can form an opinion force which can forcing the relevant departments for investigation and disclosure of information, or further influence the decision after media report.This is the main growth path mode which citizen journalism can influence the development of civil society.We can gain a result by analysis of the influence of citizen journalism path,that citizen journalism on civil society produces function is mainly through three mechanisms. Citizen journalism’s three mechanisms,play an important role on the enhancement of citizen consciousness, expanding the breadth and depth of citizen participation, highlighting the public spirit and expanding non-governmental forces.But the citizen journalism in our country is still not mature, therefore it has certain resistance to the construction of civil society in some aspects. But as long as a little guidance, citizen journalism will be as an important means of promoting civil society to further development.
