"People's Daily" Commemorative Special Study

In recent years, with the continuous development of news reform, China’snewspaper industry has set off an upsurge in" Commemorative Edition ", and all kindsof Commemorative Edition are abundantly emerging.The unique pattern of running anewspaper has been widely applied to all kinds of newspaper, which has become anindispensable bright scenery in China’s newspaper market.However, facing the flourishing of Commemorative Edition, whatever in报业界or academia，the authors are all based on a special issue or a significant event as anobject of study, their research and writing style can be said to study the issue from micropoint of view, and they don’t research the Commemorative Edition in microcosmic viewat the historical level, and they also don’t take the communication contents andcommunication arts as a breakthrough point to sum up the long-term accumulation ofthe valuable ideas and the need for improvement on the Commemorative Edition,sothey cannot give the constructive suggestions for publishing Commemorative Edition inthe future.At present, the papers that research on Commemorative Edition lack of bothmacroeconomicsµeconomics and long-time span study. The paper mainlyresearch on the contents of Commemorative Edition published since December31,2012, which take temporal change as ordinate axis and then cross-sectionally study theCommemorative Edition’s characteristic of the communication contents andcommunication arts,combined with the specific cultural, social, economic, politicalbackground in every age. Therefore, this paper is helpful to complete and replenish thedefects.This paper will focus on the historical development, the communication contentsand communication arts of the Commemorative Edition of " People’s Daily ",and sumup the enlightenment and experience that the Commemorative Edition of " People’sDaily " have brought to congenial newspaper, and it can also know where to improveand complete, so as to provide the reference and standard for other newspaper whenthey publish Commemorative Edition, and also provide the reliable data for researchingthe Commemorative Edition in the future and form an integrated and systemic systemwith other Commemorative Edition and the works of Commemorative Edition.This paper consists of six sections. The first section is the introduction, which introduces the writing background, significance and literature review to foreshadow thefollowing contents. The first chapter mainly discuss the definition, characteristics andtypes of the Commemorative Edition. The second chapter summarizes the developmenthistory of the Commemorative Edition of “People’s Daily", including the summary ofthe historical development and different period and its characteristics. The third chapter,one of the emphasis in this paper, analyzes the communication contents of theCommemorative Edition. In this section, the author analyze and generalize thecharacteristics of the communication contents of the Commemorative Edition fromthree types of Commemorative Edition-the major national memorial day, majorhistorical events commemoration and important historical figures commemoration.Thefourth chapter, the second emphasis in this paper, analyzes the communication arts, inthis section, the author mainly discusses from the two aspects-the arts of reporting andediting. The fifth chapter, based on in-depth analysis and summary of the fourth chapter,refine five defects on the Commemorative Edition—scarce festival reports, limitedsampling range, laying particular stress on achievement reports, poor publishingcontinuity and the lack of interaction with readers. Finally, according to the fiveproblems, it proposes some advices to improve t the Commemorative Edition of "People’s Daily ".
