As an important component of security,video monitoring system has the advantages ofconvenint,intuitive,comprehensive information and so on.It is a comprehensive system of strongsecurity ability,widely used in various occasions.With the increasement of network bandwidth andthe improvement of computer processing ability and storage capacity,the video monitoring systemhas had a rapid development.From analog video sureillance to digital video surveillance,and thento network video surveillance now,application of video monitoring system is attracting more andmore attention.It will be applied from the high-end industry wireless video surveillance to smallbusiness users,finally spread to the daily monitoring of the ordinary family.This thesis introduces the design of a video acquisition system based on GPRS.The hardwareof the system adopts the MT6225chip as the core processing chip,which includes an ARM7chipand a DSP chip,with high ability in image processing.Using MT6318as the power chip,providingworking voltage for the baseband chip.Using MT6319as RF chip to be responsible for sending theimage data in GPRS.In the software,we complete the data acquisition of COMS camera based onthe Nuclear operating system.In the image compression processing,we improve the compressionalgorithm and design a new method of image network transmission,which can show the picturefastly under the condition of packet loss at the receiving end,improving the transmission efficiencyof GPRS.Finally,we design the user terminal receving program on the mobile phone,which canreceive the monitor picture data through the netserver and display the screen.This design is manily applied to the daily monitoring of the ordinary family.From the aspectof practicality and economy,we consider use the GPRS network.User can remote control the homesurveillance camera’s working state by mobile phone software.At the same time,when dangerhappens,the camera will send SMS to user,and enter the working state automatically.User watchthe monitor screen through the mobile phone after receiving the alarm notification.This videomonitoring system can achieve real-time monitoring effect,and only in the generated image datatransmission case will according to the flow of charging.Comparing with other products,this is thetwo biggest advantage.
