At present,the volume of digitized video image data is very large in the rocket-borne video image measurement, so it is difficult to transport and store so much data in real-time. The effective ways to address the problem is urgently needed.The project"video image acquisition and compression and network transmission system"is to design an image acquisition and compression equipment of high compression ratio and fidelity, which can address the lack of the storage capacity and speed in the rocket-borne telemetering system.This paper designed an image processing system, which is a set of image acquisition, compression, transmission as a whole. The system consists of the video image acquisition, image compression and network transmission. The video image acquisition module constituted mainly by ADV7180 and FPGA, which transformed the CCD image sensor of the PAL system signals into digital signals. The image compression module constituted mainly by ADV212 and FPGA, which achieved the JPEG2000 static image compression algorithm. The network transmission system constituted mainly by DM9000A,FPGA and the corresponding peripheral circuits, which proposed the method of capturing video data packet in the data link layer to achieve transmission, greatly reducing system complexity and improving system reliability. And the network transmission part designed ASF format files packaged devices and windows media player decoder plug-in by using the development tools such as Windows Media format, which was used for ADV212 image compression packaging of data and video playback to achieve real-time monitoring function; and achieved real-time monitoring function; this paper completed FPGA program design and achieved a reliable control f the whole system. The image compression ratio of the image acquisition compression and transmission system was up to 16:1, and the actual network transmission rate of the maximum reached 40Mbps working stably in a long time.
