With the rapid development of computer network and multimedia technology, the applications such as video conference, video phone, telemedicine, video surveillance and the etc become more and more popular. In particular, video surveillance system is an integrated system which refers to communication technology, computer technology and digital video technology. Because of its convenience, timely and enrich information, it has an abroad application in the area of industry, agriculture, traffic and security. This thesis takes advantage of 3G networks that without geographic restrictions and cabling cost, introduces the embedded video surveillance systems with B/S based on RTSP protocol and 3G (TD-SCDMA) technology standard.The studies of this thesis are as follows:Firstly the research background of the topic and the domestie and international development tendeney of the related fields are elaborated. Secondly, the related technologies in 3G video surveillance system are studied, including video image compression and transmission technology, socket programming technology, B/S technology,3G communication technology, uClinux system and multi-process/thread technology.On this basis, the overall architecture of this system is given, which is based on i.MX27 microprocessor, transmitted by 3G and RTSP protocol.By analyzing the characteristics of H.264 video stream outputed from LMX27 and hardware structure, the system extend the support of H.264 of Live555 which enables RTSP, and achieve PTZ control functions.In addition, according to the characteristics of this system, through tailoring and compiling VLC, calling its SDK, and with MFC, the client receives, decodes and shows video stream from the server. ActiveX technology makes OCX embed in the web to achieve B/S mode and implements basic functions of client platform.Finally, the performance of 3G video surveillance systems is tested and the effect appraisal is described. The client displays fluently, achieves the functions of play, pause and capture, and controls the PTZ of camera well.
