Dsp-based Wireless Video Monitoring System

With the rapid development of image compression and decompression, wireless network and electronic technology, wireless image surveillance has become practicable gradually. This paper expounds the basic principles and design methods of a wireless image surveillance system based on DSP.This paper begins with the development and trend of image surveillance, wireless communication and digital signal processor. Then, the several key techniques involved in the image surveillance system are introduced separately in the subsequent chapters. Chapter 2 mainly deals with image sensor, image compression and DSP, which are related to image collection and processing. Chapter 3 introduces the principles of GPRS network, network protocols and the particularity of data transfer under wireless network environment. According to the general design project and the key techniques, the system is designed, including surveillance terminal based on DSP and surveillance center based on PC. The transfer media of the system are GPRS and Internet network. Finally, the future applications and the problems of the system are introduced.
