In these days,technology is developing vey rapidly. So the demand of the people has been increasing every day. The rapid reaction and diversity of operation is required bymore and more people in interface client. The usual equipment defects Managemant system which is based on C/S or general B/S mode can no longer meet the requirementsof the application. The traditional forms of electric power system of the C/S mode or B/S mode can not satisfy an advanced management system’s requirements. Therefore, the use of new technology to improve the system has become one of the important issueswhich required to be addressed. Smart client allows users to get information and remoteservices using a powerful and intuitive client environment,and it is proved to be effective solution, flexible and user-oriented applications and improve user productivity and satisfaction. the benefits of a fat client and a thin client can be combined by a smart client applications.And the same time,the disadvantage of them is abandoned.The newly developed smart client technology can effectively solve the aboveproblems, it can provide intuitive and powerful environment space to facilitate useraccess to network information and remote services. Smart client for the developmentand design of user-oriented, with the flexibility of the program, and thus be able toimprove the users’ satisfaction and also work efficiency. It combines the advantages ofthe traditional "thin client" and "fat client" and avoid the shortcomings of both, whichmakes the program run faster, and also make the program easy maintenance update anddeploy. In addition, the intelligent client system also has interface faster response andcan provide a variety of content, etc., the local software and hardware resources arefully utilized, and a significant reduction in the development costs of the system inoccasionally connected scenarios very apply.A state-of-the-art smart client technology is discussed in this thesis, which is used to equipment defects Managemant System. Using.Net+ActiveXarchitecture of system development can effectively improve the response speed of theclient.
