Wireless sensor networks has been widely applied to collect, process and transceive data in many fields. Effective monitoring system is the important guarantee to the value of WSN. The WSN monitoring system develops in the direction of mobile computing and remote control and should be more intelligent with the rapid development of mobile internet and information technology.This paper implements a WSN monitoring system which is based on Android platform and composed of WSN, service platform and Android mobile terminal. It uses ZigBee technology to design network node and achieve node networking. Java technology is used to build the service platform which plays a role of data interchange station and keeps data exchanging with WSN while processing the data request from Android client. The service platform uses serial communication to transmit-receive WSN data. MySQL database is used to storage all the data. On the basis of Java Web technology, the service platform also uses SSH and Androidpn framework to complete the Web server which are composed of HTTP and XMPP service on Tomcat. WSN monitoring software on Android platform is designed for monitoring personnel which can be used to query the data of WSN and control node. When it runs in the background of Android system, the notification service thread guarantees a real-time reception of notification from service platform and alerts the monitoring personnel.This article takes full advantage of Android’s outstanding features and applies notification push technology to WSN monitoring systems. It allows monitoring personnel to master all the information of WSN anytime anywhere and achieves the goal of WSN remote monitoring, it also makes WSN monitoring system more reasonable and intelligent.
