With the rapid development of semiconductor and network technology, military avionics system has entered to a new epoch. The new avionics system contains highly synthetic sensors, parallel processors and shared memory with high levels of integration. Served as standard of data communications in many military environments, MIL-STD-1553B can not satisfy the need of modern systems. On the other hand, it is not good to stipulate a new standard because of its long period and high cost. So the best solution is to do the necessary modification to adapt to the avionics environment.As the technology of new avionics system communication network, Fiber Channel has the characters such as high transmitting speed, low latency, long transmitting distance and high reliability and provides a general and high speed data transmitting channel for the upper level communication protocol. FC-AE-1553 is one of the upper level communication protocols that Fiber Channel supports. FC-AE-1553 is completely compatible to MIL-STD-1553B and implements the mapping from MIL-STD-1553B to the link level of Fiber Channel. In this way it externs the communication network fabric and raises ability of network communication.It is necessary to choose the network interface devices as the network hardware to make up a communication system based on FC-AE-1553. This paper, based on the protocol of Fiber Channel and performance of the products on trial, is to design the FC-AE-1553 interface chip that can implement the basic communication functions and to reserve the interface to the advanced functions. The main object of this paper is to implement the IP core of FC-AE-1553 bridge module.This paper analyzed the avionics bus (network) protocol and then designed the FC-AE-1553 interface chip design solution based on the selection of the platform of the software and hardware development. This paper laid emphasis on the design and simulation of the FC-AE-1553 protocol bridge IP core of the user intellectual property cores, and the test and analysis reports were given at last. The result of this paper can be the foundation and the reference of the farther research and application of FC-AE protocol chip.
