This article focuses on two core elements:online video platform and online self-produced show. The research is introduced from the "new new media" communication theory and supported by overall inspection, sampling analysis and other approaches.The article is conducted by a variety of theories, including product interaction design theory, media economics, popular culture theory, visual culture theory, In order to complete the comprehensive analysis of the Chinese online video platform and online self-produced show on areas of current status, characteristics and development.It is based on the communication characteristics of the "new new media", and consulted the development status of this industry domestically and internationally. It analyses and concludes the development direction and three significant characteristics of online video platform which are content diversity, audience interaction, and platform integration.Online self produced show is now maturing and further developing towards the direction with three characteristics of diversity, interaction and integration; due to its industrial linkage to online video platform with the help of traditional media resources as online video platform is experiencing a strong growth. Chinese online video platform will certainly reach a historical peak attributed to the rise of online self-produced show and the growth of entire online video industry.
