With the rapid development of computer and network technology,the internet is gradually affecting every traditional industries.Especially for education and learning,the internet-assisted instruction is becoming a main trend in worldwide.With the development of online education system,especially MOOC,most well-known colleges and universities have built their own online learning platform,so that students can complete their study schedule anytime.From sharing study resource to course,the development of online learning is driving changes in traditional education.Based on this background,this thesis designed and developed an online learning platform with P2P-VOD system.Most traditional video of demand(VOD)system using C/S mode,users request service from the servers directly.In this way,the bandwidth resources and server performance may limit the communication.If large-scale concurrent access has occurred,the system reliability and availability could be facing a great challenge.Under this situation,this thesis used P2P to change the communication from C/S mode to P2P mode via BitTorrent protocol.In this way,the more users request video,the faster video could be played and downloaded.In this thesis,an intensive research on the technologies which are related to the built of platform were made firstly,including the Web developing,Blackboard e-Learning Platform,Mycat,P2P and BitTorrent protocol.And then,the functional requirements and performance requirements of the online learning platform.On this basis,a detailed design for the platform was made,including the front-end uploading module,video processing module,online learning module,auto-seed module,Tracker module and Mycat database management module.At last,each module of the platform were developed,accomplished,and tasted,the test results show that the platform has reached the expected functions.
