These issues have also attracted the attention of the community.ZigBee technology is a kind of wireless communication technology. It has many features such asclose transmission, low power consumption, short time delay, low complexity and low cost, which make ithas a wide application prospect. Especially in the recent years, the ZigBee technology has been applied tothe WSN.It combines the sensor technology, computer technology and communication technology, and hasbeen applied in the intelligent household or the industrial automatic control, etc.In this paper, putting the university dormitory environment as the research object, it has established aWSN based on the ZigBee technology, for monitoring the environment. It can detect the dormitoryenvironment temperature, and humidity, the illumination and power consumption. And it is helpfulfor the dormitory administrator to know the students’ dormitory environment at any time. The system ismodular. There are three parts: wireless sensing and control module, wireless network coordinator moduleand embedded gateway.As the terminals nodes, the wireless sensing and control midule can collecttemperature humidity environment information by the various sensors, and transfer these data informationto coordinator; Coordinator is mainly responsible for the construction of wireless sensor network, and isalso responsible for the terminal node joining or quitting and the data information transmission; Acting asa management center, Embedded gateway can make the dormitory asministrator control the wholewireless sensor network. The wireless sensor network has two parts: the wireless sensor and rhe controlmodule, the wireless network coordinator module. The wireless sensor network exchanges informationwith the embedded gateway by the RS232serial port.Compared with the previous methods, this system can avoid the trouble of the wiring, and make thedormitory looking more neat and clean, at the same time, the modular designning makes the system moreeasy to maintain. It has a strong expansibility, and is more applicable to the dormitory management. |
