According to the problems of environmental monitoring system for university Laboratory, wiring complexity, poor scalability, high construction and maintenance costs, defects and poor mobility. In this paper, laboratory environmental monitoring system design based on ZigBee is presented.At first, the paper gives a introduction to the wireless sensor network technology and its application, several short-range wireless communications technology have been described and compared, and a detailed study of the ZigBee technology,,including its characteristics, protocol analysis, the types of nodes and the network topology structure. Then the overall design scheme of the system is given, and the coordinator module, the router module and the terminal acquisition node module are designed based on the CC2530 chip. Then elaborated software design, including software development environment, Z-Stack protocol stack and each node module software process design. Finally, the system was tested, including networking test, the effective transmission distance test, the accuracy of test data, and the results were analyzed.After the experiment, the design of university laboratory environment monitoring system based on ZigBee technology has a lot of advantages, including low-power, reliable data transmission, construction cost low, easy to expand. It can meet most of the university laboratory for environmental monitoring needs.
