With the coming of Picture Time and the growing consumption culture of the20thcentury,“Body” as the conspicuous symbol gets the completely develop. The study ofthe cover-girl drew many comments and disputes, and it isn’t a hot topic, but aftercollecting materials and analyzing some data, I found that the body spectacle whichbody presents is a new point. This research point break the existing research on asingle thinking mode, which runs the body theory and aims at revealing theconstruction of the body spectacle.The spectacle appeared in the perspective of people’s watching, The spectacle iseverywhere, it is manufactured by people’s watch in order to meet the needs ofpeople’s vision, so the presented “body spectacle” is improve the editor of themagazine in order to satisfy the people’s need and cater to the violence of psychology.Cover-girl brings beauty to us, but we still need to think: How does the cover-girl topresent? How does the cover-girl’s body spectacle present to audience? Why does thebody spectacle happened? How does we view about the body spectacle? Thus, a seriesof questions need we to solve. So, from the above analysis, we know that the formationof cover-girl’s body spectacle is the result of many factors. In this paper, I chose thecover-girl as the research object, mainly analyzes the construction of the bodyspectacle.In view of this, this paper respectively from the aesthetic, the consumption, thediscourse to analysis and interpret the construction of body spectacle. Use data toexplain the type and the connotation of body spectacle which brings to us. Cover-girlexist as an aesthetic object, the reconstructing of body’s meaning is important to theconstruction of the body spectacle. Meantime, the aesthetic inspired by people’s bodydesire and body image which strengthen the people’s aesthetic idea, thus, the bodygradually sink into symbol consumption stream. And for "beauty" consumption basedon the common interests of the audience and the editors which strengthen theconstruction of the cover-girl’s body spectacle. In both aesthetic and consumption tothe construction process of cover-girl’s body spectacle, cover girl body discourse as anideology is a limit expression, which proved that our view of the cover girl actuallyare bound, the existence of their present body spectacle is a kind of construction.
