Journal, as one of the important medium of information dissemination and cultural bearing in the social development process, has gradually caused the attention and concern of researchers. In recent year, some related journals on specific subjects have reached massive achievements and made a series of fruitful results, some research methods have been formed systematically. Compared with mature study on literary journal, though the study on film journals started late, it has been taking shape.There are a lot of levels on journal study, but in the image reading age, visual reading prevails at present, for the research on the cover of the journal, it also has become the focus of the researchers in recent years.The1980s is the significant social transformation period; it has a profound influence on the contemporary culture and art development. The film art and periodicals are important parts of mass culture. Deeply influencing a generation, the film journal of "popular cinema" also has the typical significance of the typical text, during this period, cover girl, as a collective memory of fashion of the generation is undoubtedly the study focus of the researchers. In the80s,"popular cinema" cover girl is the sign of fashion and the young people to chase and imitate, cover girl convey everything means fashionable and popular trend. Fashion culture is a part of popular culture, a variety of style of a kind of mass culture. This paper takes cover girl of "popular cinema"(1979-1989) for a specific material, combined with the social culture of our country and the status, analysis of the mass culture reflected by the magazine for the psychological and the evolution of fashion culture as one of the popular culture form. At the same time, the journal inquiry as the media at the time is how to influence the spread of fashion culture and the development, reveal its of myth, and the problems in today’s rapid development of media industry bring to reflection and warning.In the transition period of today’s society, diversified values and all kinds of culture collide with each other.In this background, the individual can’t find the way of cultural identity, they both want to highlight their personality, and to get a group identification sense of belonging. In real life, people lack of strong faith and try to choose to pursue the so-called "fashion", to relieve psychological identity crisis and anxiety. Today, as the median influence becomes increasingly effective and widely, media has influenced the judgment standard of the public. Media is definitely fashion manufacturing technical supporters and conspiracy. In order to build a healthy social environment, there is a long way to go to the modern media, not only to guide and disseminate the fashion culture to set up public health values and aesthetic view, more importantly, it is essential to build a healthy social and cultural identity, so as to create a good media environment for the public.
