Journalism Education In China During The New Period

Journalism Education is a systematic subject that needs sustainable developmentand innovation. Under the background of journalism reform and transformation allaround the world as well as the multiple media forms and modern informationdisseminating technologies, all this needs a better development of journalismeducation in China.This paper studies on the current background of facing problems in China’sjournalism education, also puts forward some constructive suggestions and promotingsustainable development conception. This paper mainly discusses three aspects: Thefirst part states the current achievements of Journalism Education in China. Chinesejournalism education has made a lot of achievements, especially after the reform andopening up, China’s journalism industry made rapid development which led todevelopment of journalism education, mainly discusses from the scale of running aschool, faculty, academic achievement, integrating with other disciplines and theapplication of new and high technology and other aspects of current journalismeducation made brilliant achievements; The second part focuses on the currentbackground of facing problems and challenges behind in China’s journalism education.Discuss from six aspects, including: The teaching system in Journalism system is notappropriate; Journalism teaching content and practice have no accordance and haveunreasonable curriculum; construction of old faculty; defects on students occupationmorality; university talents training objectives is not clear as well as the talent supplyand demand imbalance; the unitary teaching form and the introduction of newtechnology fall into confusion. The third part takes the focus on putting forward someconstructive suggestions and promoting sustainable development conception ofChina’s journalism education, including following the laws of journalismcommunication and journalism education, imbibing former and abroad outstandingjournalism education thought and experience, building a close link between school ofjournalism and journalism media and so on. In addition, journalism occupation moralseducation is an important aspect in journalism education in China to achievesustainable development conception.The new period journalism education development must establish the goal first;adhere to the "people-oriented", needs to start from the three basic elements ofjournalism education systems, goals to train more talented group of teachers, to construct curriculum system, and teaching into practice. And then from the Universityand practice, which are the two main aspects of Journalism Education in the directionof sustainable development, puts forward the new conception of developmentstrategy.
