The mass media industry is facing two realities in China: on the one hand, the rapid development of the information society enables people to relate increasingly to mass media; on the other hand, the competition in journalistic circles turns red-hot day by day. This has urged people from all walks of life to pay concerned attention to the journalism education because of the competition for talented people when all is said and done. Based on the investigation, the thesis discusses the following questions: How is the present situation of journalism education in Xinjiang? Are there a series of problems concerning curriculum, teacher construction and so on? Can the students we have fostered adapt themselves to the market demands and to the work in this field under the high tech conditions? How should we renew our ideas and foster qualified talented people to satisfy the need of China's modernization?The thesis gives priority to empirical study., combining other research methodologies such as theoretical study, comparative study, case analysis, material analysis and data analysis and so on. The whole thesis concludes new characteristics of journalism education development in universities of Xinjiang, analyzes and studies the problems about journalism education pertinently. Thus, it provides theoretical and practical basis to improve the quality of journalism education and makes a macro study of gives instructions to it on the basis of micro contrast. With authentic materials, rigorous proof, pertinent points and flowing languages, much effort has been made to achieve a high-quality thesis.
