With the rapid development of Radar technology and the improvement ofinformation technology for Radar electronic warfare equipment, the electromagneticenvironment for radar is more complex. In order to test the performance of Radarsystem and validate the system indicators in the complex environment, Radar signalssimulator becomes the indispensable debugging system. The paper aims to design themulti-channel Radar signal simulator using instruments. The system can producedifferent Radar signals, such as the single-channel output signal, the multi-channeloutput coherent signal, and2-channel amplitude-comparison signal.According to the needs of the project, the multi-channel radar signal simulatorsystem is designed by hierarchical way in this paper. The whole system is divided intothree layers: the layer of signal establishment, the layer of system control software, andthe layer of system control hardware.In order to satisfy the needs of the signals, the waveform database is established inthis paper. The waveform database includes three parts: the signal database, the clutterdatabase and the interference database. The waveform database is established usingmatlab software according to the mathematical model of the signal.89601vectorsignals analysis software and spectrum analysis instrument is used to analysis andvalidate the correctness of the final synthesized signal.The system control software is accomplished by Visual Studio2008platform,using the programming language C#and matlab. And it’s the control center of the wholesystem.The hardware layer of the system is used to complete the synthesis, modulationand calibration of the output signal, which is consist of instruments, such as arbitrarywaveform generator Agilent N8241A and vector signal generator Agilent E8267D andso on. It also completes the synthesis of the baseband, IF and RF signal. The finalsynthesized signal is verified by a spectrum analyzer. The calibration of the outputsignal is completed by the software layer and the hardware layer.
