Radar signal simulator system is aimed at simulating the Radar signal environment of the real battled-field environment, it can generate different radar pulse signal, .and change analog signal characteristics and format in accordance with parameters of different radar signal simulator system, which provides electronic warfare equipment with the real battled-field testing environment approximately to outside environment. At the same time, radar signal simulator makes use of the implementation between software and hardware, which has some characteristics about universality, compatibility, stability and flexibility. This thesis is on the basis of specific design requirements and technical index of radar signal simulator system, and it analyzes and arranges independent multi-pass designing scheme according to FPGA, the main task is divide into following sections:1. Model and analyze radar signal environment, including constitution and working principles of radar system, fundamental types of radar signals and simulation models of radar signal environment. Constitution and working principles of radar system include radar transmitter, receiver, radar system operating principles and radar equation(determining the maximum detection range for testing targets). Fundamental types of radar signals include AM pulse signal, LFM pulse signal, phase encoding pulse signal and NLFM pulse signal. For simulation models of radar signal environment, it provides 3 modulation models including RF modulation model, PRI modulation model and PA modulation model.2. Design and implement radar baseband signal simulator, including holistic designing scheme of simulator system and structure of each module. Holistic designing scheme expounds that radar signal simulator is constituted by control, communication,display and signal generation. Signal generation module is the key content of the paper,including PRI module (generating timing pulse), DDS module (generating various signals of intra-pulse modulation) and DA module (digital-to-analogue conversion). In the end,it introduces NIOS II system which is used for parameter input for signal generation module.3. Simulate and verify above-mentioned designs of radar baseband signal simulator system, including ModelSim simulation and Matlab verification of DDS module of single-frequency pulse signal, LFM pulse signal, phase-encoding pulse signal and NLFM pulse signal, comparison to ideal various signals. Then, simulate and verify the superposition of 2 signals, 4 signals, 8 signals and 16 signals ,and analyze the reason of the distinction between practical parameter waveform output DDS and ideal output.4. Analyze and summarize the advantages and disadvantages of radar baseband signal simulator system designing scheme, optimize the structure of module of signal generation, decrease the resources consumed by the system and enhance flexibility and compatibility.
