This is a translation project report on the translation of the eleventh, twelfth and thirteenth chapters of the Eco Civilization2140, written by the famous American professor Roy Morrison. The book mainly described the ecological civilization in the22nd century that supposed the ecological policy and principle in the future, which aimed at discussing the ecological civilization and calling on all mankind to improve our life quality and establish an ecological society.The translation project report is divided into four parts:Part One is the translation project description of the background, objectives and significance. Part Two is the background of the source text, including the author introduction, main contents of the source text and source text analysis. Part Three is the analysis of translation difficulties and methods, the preparations done and the translation strategies adopted are presented in light of the functional equivalence theory. Part Four concludes with the lessons, implication and unsolved problems in the translation project.Underpinned by Nida’s Functional Equivalence Theory, the reporter argued the importance of "Functional Equivalence" in EST translation.
