Objective:To evaluate the clinical significance of Baoshen oral liquid for IgA nphropathy (IgAN) patients with Qi-Yin deficiency and blood stasis syndrome and to analyze the feasibility of tongue picture methods for assessing these patients through the observation of its clinical effect and the variations in the tongue picture of patients before and after treatment. Methods:According to the diagnostic and classification on criterion of IgAN,60IgAN Patients with Qi-Yin deficiency and blood stasis syndrome were involved in the study and randomized into treatment group and control group,30cases in each, and respectively treated for2months by Baoshen oral liquid medicine solution combined with modern medicine therapy and the modern medicine therapy used alone. Traditional Chinese medical (TCM) syndromes were monitored. The indicators before and after treatment including urinary red blood cell count,24-h amount of urinary protein, serum creatinine, blood urea nitrogen, blood rheology, immunoglobulin (IgA, IgG, IgM), as well as variations in the tongue picture were compared within the two groups.Result:(1) Total effective rate of the treatment group was90.0%, which was higher compared to73.34%of the control group(P<0.05); The treatment group had a distinctly better outcome in improving TCM symptoms than control group (P=0.00, P<0.00).(2) After two months of treatment, indicators including red blood cells count in urinary sediment and24-h amount of urinary protein of two groups were improved (P<0.01), and post-treatment outcomes in treatment group and control group were significantly different (P=0.000, P<0.01and P=0.007, P<0.01);(3) After two months of treatment, the indicators including immunoglobulin IgA, whole blood viscosity shear rate1, shear rate of whole blood viscosity200, plasma viscosity and erythrocyte aggregation index in the two groups were all improved (P<0.01), and post-treatment outcomes in treatment group and control group were significantly different (P=0.000, P<0.01), while no significant differences were found in serum creatinine, blood urea nitrogen, immunoglobulin IgG, immunoglobulin IgM and erythrocyte rigidity index between the two groups.(4) After two months of treatment, symptom improvement was found in the two groups of patients with blood stasis (P<0.05), and post-treatment outcomes in treatment group and control group were significantly different (P<0.05).Conclusion:(1)Baoshen oral liquid was proved to be effective for IgAN patients with Qi-Yin deficiency and blood stasis syndrome.(2) Variations in the tongue picture can be used as an objective index for the clinical assessment of blood stasis.
