Along with the progress of microelectronics technology and digital integratedcircuits application in the measuring instruments,developed a new kind of signal sourcecalled arbitrary waveform generator. The frequency of its output waveform signal hasthe advantage of high resolution,high stability,fast switching and its output waveformphase continuous. Arbitrary waveform generator can not only produce the standardwaveform such as sine wave,square wave but also can produce a variety of modulationwaveform and user-defined arbitrary waveform. It’s widely used in the test system.The emergence of wearable computing devices let science and technology servepeople’s daily life and work in a closer way,and it realize intelligent human-computerinteraction. A wearable arbitrary waveform generator module was designed in this thesis.It is characterized by small size,low power consumption and without external powersupply. Users can bring it with themselves and it can be used at any time as long asthere is a host computer.The main contents are as follows:1、Design of low power consumption and miniaturization module. Aiming at theneed of wearable,the hardware platform should have the the characteristics of lowpower consumption and small volume,so with the way of USB bus-powered weanalyzed and designed the power supply module. In addition,the hardware circuitconsidered selecting components with low power consumption in small package. All toensure that the instrument can work normally and can meet the dimension requirement.2、Design of function circuit. In accordance with the technical index requirements,we confirmed the overall hardware scheme of the module. With the chip CY7C68013Awe designed the USB interface circuit,which completed transmitting data message andcontrol commands. Basing on the theory of DDS and using “FPGA+SRAM+DAC”architecture we designed the waveform synthesis circuit,designed logic circuit such asaddress decoding,digital modulation and memory control interface in FPGA. It realizedthe function of generating a variety of standard waveform,digital modulation waveformand arbitrary waveform. Analog channel is to filter initial wave and control amplitude,etc,which ensure that the final output waveform signal meets the indexrequirements.3、Design of the application program. The application program of the instrumentwas designed with the design platform Visual C++6.0. The software interface is simpleand easy to use. Users can choose the kind of output waveform on the operation panel,and can set up various parameters such as frequency,amplitude,phase and duty cycle.It realized the human-computer interaction and the communication between hardwarecircuit and host computer.After testing and verification,the results show that the effect of the waveformsignal which generated by the wearable arbitrary waveform generator module is good.Its sampling rate reaches40MSPS,with16-bits vertical resolution and64k points ofstorage depth. The maximum output frequency of Sine wave reaches15MHz. Themaximum power consumption is less than2W. It meets the design requirements andproves the feasibility of the design.
