Arbitrary waveform generator is a kind of complex waveform signal generator which has important application value in simulation test areas such as communication,radar,navigation,ultrasound and automatic measurements,but the commercial arbitrary waveform generator is very expensive. This thesis is devoted to design and develop a memory type arbitrary waveform generator based on embedded ARM which has low cost,friendly human-computer interface,simple operation.This thesis designs and develops a memory based arbitrary waveform generator which uses the ARM11S3C6410chip as the core control chip,and chooses two128M Bytes Mobile DDR and a2G Bytes Nand Flash memory to storage software and data. The system includes USB, RS232, network interface and other standard interfaces which can be used to read arbitrary waveform data. This system uses12bit resolution of AD9762chip to conduct D/A conversion,while takes the AD8052as a differential amplifier,filters high frequency noise through a seven order Butterworth filter. Study on the PCB board wiring and signal integrity are also discussed. In this thesis, the software about Windows CE system customization, transplantation are described in detail, at the same time, the GPIO driver, file reading and writing, the output waveform control and human-computer interaction graphical interface are also written.The experimental results show that the development of memory based arbitrary waveform generator can generate standard waveforms such as sine wave, square wave, triangle wave, also generate arbitrary waveform based on user’s needs, included drawing arbitrary waveform in the drawing board, low cost, friendly human-computer interface and simple operation.
